Saddam
Is it complete coincidence that the Iraqi ex-dictator has finally sentenced at the precise moment the Republicans need a final push in the current US Elections?
Or have I just become cynical??

I'd actually be hugely surprised if the diplomatic strength of the US was enough to create the serendipitous timing. So you're right: more of a conspiracy theory!
Here in the UK, I shouldn't think there is broad support for the death penalty for Saddam, something I believe Blair has expressed.
